Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Aug 25, 2009 by TruveloSOX lighting is still used here but some of the lanterns are out.
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Aug 25, 2009 by TruveloLeaving Terminal 5. Magnificent architecture and a sense of calm there, unlike the opening day. The incoming road on the right has a 40 limit, despite a fast easy access and, only 1 rbt. by the terminal.

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Oct 23, 2008 by TruveloWhere the A282 becomes the M25. Would it be technically legal to stop on the hard shoulder between the two signs ;-)
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Oct 09, 2008 by YorklettsNon Motorway traffic is directed onto the A13 at J30, the start of the M25 proper.
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Oct 09, 2008 by YorklettsWidening, new lighting and gantries along this section of the M25. The lane drop is for the A2 exit, lanes 2, 3 and 4 for Dartford and the tunnel. Taken 1st October 2008. The gantries on the M25 are clear enough but I think those installed as part of the corresponding work on the A2 (westbound) approach to J2 are clumsy and reminiscent of a badly organised desktop in Windows! I'll try to get a picture soon to illustrate my point.
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Oct 09, 2008 by YorklettsM25 heading anti-clockwise towards J2. The M20 has just merged from the left. Before the widening works there was a short 4 lane section here with a lane drop just over the brough of the hill. The signed loss of hard shoulder is where the M25 crosses the Swanley-Rochester railway line where the original bridge was built for D3M.

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Aug 06, 2008 by SteveA30View of the anti-clockwise M25 TOTSO at Chevening. Lanes 1 and 2 are for Dartford, Lanes 3 and 4 for the M26 and A21 south. Westbound M25 traffic can be seen joining from the right in the middle of the picture. SOX lighting still very evident here in January 2004. The horizontal reach of the columns was chopped by about 80% when the MA60 heads were replaced in 2007.
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Jun 02, 2008 by YorklettsEastbound TOTSO Gantry at Chevening where the M25 splits left towards Dartford and the mainline continues to the M26/A21 diverge.
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Jun 02, 2008 by YorklettsThe A21 splits for north and westbound M25 at J5. The curve to the right (M25 NORTH) follows the original alignment of the A21 Sevenoaks bypass from here for approximately 1 mile to where the A21 D2 section once terminated at at Polehill. Taken 9th January 2004 with the recently replaced SOX lighting still in place.
