This is new end of the M606 motorway, with a view of Bradford in the distance. Basically, the road now ends in a gyratory system with the A6177 outer Bradford ring road.

This of course never happened, but you can see from the map it would have linked in with the city centre ring road, some of which was built in the 1990's. In 2004 the terminus of the M606 motorway, otherwise known as Staygate junction in Bradford was rebuilt to include a northbound link to the city's outer ring road. This completed the remaining section of the famous unfinished grade separated junction which occupied this space for well over thirty years. The southbound link was constructed in the early 1990's. Included here, is one Bradford Council's press releases from their 2004 'Community Pride' newsletter showing before and after pictures.

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Sep 15, 2005 by LonewolfJust on from the new junction is the remainder of the reserved land strip from the unfinshed GSJ. (Don't worry the horse in the photo was only sleeping, it woke up soon after I took this photo). This view looking down towards West Bowling and then onto the city centre.
