The bridge across the Black Water at Garve is a single carriageway metal truss bridge constructed in 1986 by the military. The date is nearly coincident with the closure of the Little Garve Bridge further upstream due to concerns over the structure. However, old maps show a bridge at Garve before 1986. This appears to have been a wooden trestle style bridge across the river, which was removed to make way for the current structure.
