Longford County

Granard is a small town in north-east County Longford, situated about a third of the way along the N55 national secondary road from Cavan to Athlone. The town formerly had a much greater significance as a destination in the old trunk road system, since it was here that the T24 from Dundalk and the T31 from Portumna met the T15 Galway to Monaghan road, while the T10 from Cavan to Mullingar road also passed close by.
