Hedge End Interchange is junction 7 of the M27. It was a western terminus for many years, with space left for the road to continue under the roundabout.
It serves Hedge End and the surrounding area and is controlled by traffic lights. The slip road emerging from the M27 eastbound has an lane which can allow free flowing access from the slip road and towards Hedge End and the Superstores. This lane is separated from the rest of the roundabout by some slightly raised red paint.
The other side of the roundabout serves eastern Southampton, with a road linking up to Kanes Hill Roundabout.
Given the junction's proximity to several retail parks, it has had its signal timings revised many times. The latest project took place during April 2020.
