Jock's Lodge Interchange forms the junction of the A1079 and the A164, and was built in 1980 as part of the Beverley Bypass.
It was constructed with the A1079 as dual carriageway under a single carriageway A164, which is signalised. In 2017, East Riding of Yorkshire Council consulted on improvements to the junction to reduce congestion. Four options were proposed:
- Purple - A164 dualling with free flow left slip from A1079 westbound to A164 southbound
- Red - conversion of the interchange into a conventional grade separated roundabout interchange. This would remove the existing bridge and incorporate two new bridges for the circulatory carriageway above the A1079, and include some free flow slips to bypass the roundabout for left turning traffic
- Blue - dualling of the A164 and adding dumbbell roundabouts to the main carriageway of the A1079 underneath, to allow for turning traffic
- Green - the conversion of the junction into a full cloverleaf with the provision of the missing sliproads.
