County Kilkenny is a county in south-west Leinster and the South-East Region of the Republic of Ireland. At its southern and south-eastern edge, the Rivers Suir and Barrow form the boundaries with respectively County Waterford and County Wexford, and near the confluence of the two rivers lies the Port of Waterford (Belview), which – despite its name – is situated in County Kilkenny.

Public highways in the county – other than national roads (including motorways), which are the responsibility of Transport Infrastructure Ireland – are managed by Kilkenny County Council.
