Lambton Bridge carries the A183 across the River Wear near Chester-le-Street. It was built in 1926 to replace the adjacent medieval bridge, which is now only used to provide access to the private Lambton Estate. It is similar in design and construction to the bridges on the Wear at Croxdale and the Derwent at Swalwell.
