Llangurig is a small village in Radnorshire, reputed to be the highest in Wales at an altitude of 300 m above sea level. Its road transport claim to fame is that it is here that the A470, Wales's principal north-south route, meets the Aberystwyth to Oxford A44, the latter being subsumed by the former as far as Rhayader. The village is also traversed by National Cycle Route 8.
