Option C is the longer, more strategic, option for the Lower Thames Crossing. Going from the A2 just west of M2 Junction 1 (which was the originally planned start) to the M25 at Ockendon, with a link road the the A13 at Orsett Cock.
There is the additional option of upgrading the A229 between the M20 and M2, allowing Channel Tunnel, etc traffic to use the route without congesting the route through the North Downs. Despite a majority of responders to the consultation preferring this Option over plain Option C, no details have been made public of this section.
