Rockingstone Moss Interchange is Junction 22 of the M62.
East of its bridge is the highest point on any motorway in Great Britain - 1221 feet (372m) above sea level. The staggered diamond layout is unusual in that it has cattle grids on all four slip roads.
History
The eastbound sliproads were opened on 10 December 1970 (per The Gazette) as part of the J22 to J23 opening.
The overbridge opened on 3 August 1971 as part of the J17 to J22 opening, with the westward entry slip roads opening a little later on 6 October 1971 (per The Gazette).
