Mary Street Roundabout lies on the A803 between Falkirk and its suburb of Laurieston. The B805 crosses north-south, and to the south it passes through a shallow cutting as it climbs the hill, the south west corner of the junction is banked up to the railway line which curves round and crosses the A803 at a skew bridge immediately to the west. Behind the railway lies the large green space of Callendar Park, an urban sanctuary at the heart of the sprawling town.
The roundabout was built when the B805 was diverted out of Laurieston itself, formerly meeting the A803 as Boyd Street at the next roundabout to the east. At the same time, the route was extended north to cross the A803 and sweep down the hill to meet the new A9 line and so connect to the M9 motorway. This new link is dualled, and bizzarely NSL despite its short length, making it a race track for boy racers, sprinting back and forth between the roundabouts. The dualling was perhaps intended to help with separating turning traffic at either end.
