The R700 connects the R887 in Kilkenny to the R723 at New Ross in County Wexford.
Following the construction of the New Ross bypass, the R700 was extended southwards, along the former N30, taking the course of the New Ross Relief Road through Irishtown, to end at Kent's Cross Roundabout in Hewittsland.
