Restormel Bridge crosses the River Fowey in Cornwall on the Lostwithiel Bypass.
Construction had started in early 1939 and a photo of the bridge in November 1939 showed it to be fairly complete. Word had got round during that month that faults had been found that were costing a lot of money to put right. The Council reported that a few minor defects had occurred that would not be a liability for the Council.
The bridge is a triple span concrete arch structure, with the central arch being considerably wider than the two flanking arches. Whilst the underlying structure is concrete, the facings have been covered in what looks like reconstituted stone cladding. There are also semi-circular cutwaters between the arches, rising to provide somewhat unnecessary pedestrian refuges considering the width of the pavements. The road is a standard S2 carriageway across, and whilst the bridge is straight the road curves, accommodated within the pavement space.
