Rush Hill is the southern end of the A37 / A39 multiplex and is a rather odd junction. The A37 remains the primary route through the Junction, but is forced to TOTSO with the A39 maintaining priority as it heads towards Chewton Mendip. The junction is covered by a 50 limit, with a speed camera as you approach from the east.
Traffic heading south on the A37 is given a turning lane, with a give way at the end. This used to be a two way route however, but the rather blind exit from it forced it to become one way many years ago. Indeed, the layout would suggest that this was the original route of the A37, with the western side of the triangle a more recent addition to the junction to improve safety.
