Sipsey Bridge crosses the River Stour on the B1061. This is the road between Haverhill and Newmarket. This is the first bridge on a classified road after the river's source. The river here forms the border between Cambridgeshire and Suffolk. There is a plaque to each county on the parapet of the bridge from 1923. They face into the highway. The one for Suffolk syas WSCC. West Suffolk was incorporated into Suffolk in 1974
