At the bottom of Stanley Hill, Stanley Roundabout is the eastern end of the Amersham bypass. In 1922 (when it was a simple T-junction), it was the terminus of the A404 on the A413. When the bypass opened, a roundabout was built and the A355 extended along the old A413 to it.
