The Swan House Roundabout is so called as it used to be the location of the regional headquaters of British Telecom, called Swan House.
Situated in the middle of roundabout perched on top of the A167(M) central motorway in Newcastle, just north of the Tyne Bridge the buiding has changed names many times, and is now expensive flats and also hosts Metro radio.
The roundabout itself is a junction between the A167, A167(M), A186 and Pilgrim Street which itself is the old route of the A1 through Newcastle.
