This article says the M60 and M62 multiplex near Manchester, but the M62 routebox shows the section as being defunct rather than in a multiplex. Both should match up - does the M62 multiplex or disappear? M5lenzar 21:34, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

Can't it be both? After all, the A31 and A46 have defunct sections where they multiplex with the M3/M27 and M1/M69 respectively. Johnny 14:50, 23 April 2009 (UTC)
I would say a multiplexing road is not defunct - do we describe the A30 as being defunct where it multiplexes with the A303, or with the M5? IMHO it's just where a road has 2 or more numbers whereby only one is displayed. M5lenzar 15:25, 23 April 2009 (UTC)

"Defunct" multiplexing.

M60 Eccles to Simister used to be M62, so as part of the numbered M62 it is defunct, being the unsigned part of the M60+M62 multiplex. --nowster 21:43, 23 April 2009 (UTC)

credit for the usage

The article claims this usage was "created by SABRE" when in fact it's been in use in the USA for decades. Dadge (talk) 04:19, 24 October 2020 (BST)
