Tormarton Interchange is junction 18 of the M4.
History
It opened on 16 December 1966 for access to the westbound M4, which at that stage was completed to J22 (now J2 of M48) Newhouse, Chepstow via the Severn Bridge. The Chepstow to Newport section opened in 1967. The roundabout and bridges were fully constructed in readiness for the eastwards extension. This did not take place until 15 June 1971 when the section to J17 Stanton St. Quintin was opened. The link up to the Maidenhead bypass happened later in the year.
