The Westmill Interchange (also known as Ware Interchange) was to serve the B1001, linking Watton-at-Stone and Ware. The B1001 to the west of the junction was later renumbered A602 (see articles on B1001, A602, and A119 for more information on the history of these linked routes).
The junction comprises a roundabout interchange above the main A10 carriageways, with full access.
As of 2016 there are plans by Hertfordshire County Council to add traffic signals to the interchange and widen the A602 approach, to relieve some of the peak hours traffic congestion that occurs at the junction. Work on this commenced in late 2017, with widening of the carriageways and accesses and from the A602 and A10. Traffic signals were installed in May 2018.
