The B808 is a very urban road, starting in Glasgow's west end and gently curving around the north of the city centre. Along the way it passes through a wide variety of Glasgow life, from the bustling Byres Road to quiet industrial areas. Except for the section south of the Great Western Road, which was part of the B768, the road was originally unclassified. It remained so for some years but had become the B808 by 1986.
