The A839 is one of the shorter A83x roads, running for less than 25 miles through south Sutherland. It is not a route that many people will drive from end to end in one go, indeed it seems unlikely that many people even complete the eastern section from The Mound to Lairg in one go, but it is nevertheless an important connection for the communities that live along it, and also a dramatic
