The B858 is the route formerly taken through Drymen by the A811, which now bypasses the village. It is not a particularly exciting route, starting and finishing on the A811, and doing little of interest in between. After climbing up from the A811 to the south, it meets the B837 in Drymen village centre, which heads towards Balmaha on the eastern shore of Loch
