However the B1533 is not at all signed, and physically it is the same to the C road it superseded.

The B1533 is an unsigned Class II route between the Lincoln Eastern Bypass and the B1308 within Lincoln. It originally was part of the C4, however was upgraded to a Class II status upon opening of the A15 Lincoln Eastern Bypass in December 2020. The route number is completely unsigned upon opening the Bypass, and the road number is shown on OS (2021 version revisions and later) as well as OSM since the opening.

The B1538 is the 'DN7 Hatfield Link Road', which opened in December 2020 and is part of the 'Unity DN7' development plan for the area between Hatfield, Stainforth and the M18.
It starts at a roundabout to the west of the M18/M180 roundabout, which it is connected to by motorway link roads and also provides access to Doncaster North Services. From there it runs roughly west to a roundabout where it meets Bootham Lane, providing access to Hatfield, and continues north-west with a bridge
Is there a source for this? That would be a remarkable development and very unusual for a Transport Scotland scheme.

The non-standard number B38 was seemingly allocated to the former A38 in Selly Oak, Birmingham upon opening of the bypass in 2011. The road linked the A38 to itself, starting by Tesco then climbing Bristol Road under the Cross City Line to end at the Selly Oak Triangle.
