Post by M11 Man »

What is your nearest motorway junction?

Mine is M11 J14, although I'm closer to A14 J33

M27 J11, then M27 J12, then M27 J9. After that, it would either be M27 J8 or the end of the M275.

I've a selection to choose from - all within about 4 miles of where I live.

M56 - J16 & J15, (albeit via M53)

M53 - J10, J11 & J12.

I'm nearer the other end of junction 6 - this is my nearest part of the motorway network, and is about 500 yards away....

M60 Junction 1 - the "Blue Pyramid". I'm about half a mile away, and probably negotiate that roundabout on about 90% of my car journeys from home.

When I'm at University in Aberystwyth, my neares motorway junction (according to Multimap) is M4 J49, which is 46 miles away as the crow flies.

However, when I'm at home (Newton Aycliffe, Co. Durham), my nearest junction is the A1(M), J59, which is about three miles to the south.

M1 J26.
C, E flat and G go into a bar. The barman says "sorry, we don't serve minors". So E flat walks off, leaving C and G to share an open fifth between them.

M4 J49? Or M5 J31? I don't know... my nearest highway exit is the 400/407 4-level stack (about 1.5 miles from here).

At home, it's M4 J12. At university normally, it's M27 J4 or J5.

At home it's M11 J14, at work probably J12 (or J13, close call). But right now, it's J4 :)

It's interesting to see which locations are narrowly definable, and which are not.
Mine is J11 of the M23, but that puts me in something of a large possible catchment area.

At home: M60 Junction 2, but that's a limited access junction.
At work: M67 Junction 3

Hadn't thought about work. It turns out that my 26-mile drive leaves me closest to the same old junction - M23 J11

Hmmm - As the crow flies, I'm a couple of hundred metres nearer to M54 J2 than M54 J1. Then it's M6 J11, J10 and M6T T8...

M27 junction 7, then M27 junction 5. If junction 6 had been built then that would have been closest.
