I've just counted (from the signature) that I have 33 F99 roads in my bag. So that's 66 to go.

We are evenly matched but you will soon be well ahead of me.

There's a few that I have almost driven all the way - A1 (missing all Scotland), A30 (Basingstoke - London), A33, A35, A38 (beyond Exeter), A43 eastern, A68, A70 (Ayr) and probably others too north of the border but I can't see me getting to drive on these roads any time soon.

With a few extra being added to the list & relevant discussions elsewhere, I thought that now would be a good time to update.

Britain (F99 only):

A1 (all in one go, deliberately)
A5 (likewise)
A7
A8
A9
A14
A19
A21 (way back from collecting a sofa in Brighton!)
A23 (on my way to collect said sofa in Brighton)
A42
A50 (chose this road heading back from Brighton, nigh on 9 hours back to Wigan!)
A55
A58
A64
A65
A66
A68
A69 (missed this out)
A70 (had to drive my sister from Edinburgh to Ayr, saw it as a perfect opportunity to add this one to the list)
A71
A74 (kind of)
A77
A79 (deliberately, it really isn't hard)
A82
A83
A87
A90
A92
A93
A95
A97
A99

M1
M5
M6
M8
M9

I added the M69, A19 and A697 to my tally on the way home from Coventry yesterday. I have to say that both the latter were very enjoyable drives, and that the A697 in particular has jumped straight in near the top of my top 10 UK roads. I think only the A939 and A87 can beat it at the moment. However, I think that the frustration experienced of not having time to stop and explore all of the interesting places I passed was almost worse than the tedium of the M6 / 74 route.
Also drove missing bits of the A46, A38, A452 and A50 over the weekend.

By far the most spectacular acheivement though was managing to drive all of the Walton Summit Motorway in one go!

From the SABRE Wiki: Walton Summit Motorway :

The Walton Summit Motorway forms a short three lane single carriageway motorway link between the M65 and M61 and ultimately the A6. It was opened in early 1995; almost 3 years in advance of the M65 due to the fact the new motorway was constructed on top of the original link road.

In 1986, a spur road was constructed from the A6 to the M61. This route was primary, single carriageway, and was subject to the National Speed Limit. It

I'd say that failing to drive all of that in one go is far more spectacular! :)

In order to bag that one, you need to drive right into Stranraer, and out again for the ferry port. It's a nice road, though - especially between Dumfries and Newton Stewart.

In the last 10 days I have completed the A1 to A17* and also the A341, A345-9, A419, A515 and A537, along with numerous B roads and a couple of 4 digit A roads. Not sure I've caught Owain up yet though.

Look forward to it! My two recent trips south have reminded me how lucky we are up here to have real open roads, not the interminable misery of travelling at the speed of the slow numpty at the front of the queue (not often an HGV it seems).

Anyway, I've now updated my records, and I've not just passed 25% completion of the A1-A999, I've just scraped over 26% yesterday! This is largely helped by having completed 105 in Zone 8 and 56 in Zone 9.
I still only have 31 of the F99 though.

I see you have finally added my good self to your list. :) If you are looking for similar, the A71 is a decent run. It's very winding, but scenic, though, between Kilmarnock and the M74.

The A72 was a good fun drive .... not least because I followed a van that was evidently driven by an enthusiastic local through the twisty section west of Peebles. I eventually managed to pass him (at warp speed) on the long straight leading up to Biggar, where he had nowhere to hide! :driving:

I'm going to Fort William/Skye/Loch Ness for my birthday run, with girlfriend and her daughter in tow. Opportunity to collect A81, A82, A86 and A87.

I must get over to the east side sometime too, because my 9 list is lacking...

I've now completed the A79, and done all of the A71 and another chunk of the A70, so a third of the F99 now complete.
Of lesser routes, A704, A719, A736, A759 also all completed in last 36 hours, along with a handful of B roads.

I did a bunch of the A6xx a fortnight ago too - A623, A624, A637, A646 and A687.

Might get a few more A9x/A9xx routes done before the end of the year, but that'll be about it I think.

I'd like to do the entire A9 from Falkirk to Scrabster as well as the old A74 (B7076 etc). I'd also like to do the A1, A872 (I've almost driven the entire length), A803, pretty much all versions of the A80 and also like to do the A7, A8, A90, A91, A92 and A96.
Motorways I want to drive that I have not driven on:
M6, M8, A8(M), A74(M), M77
And those that I have driven a little bit of:
M9, M80, M74
I have driven the entirety of the A883 and A8004 (not surprising where I am) and also the M73, M876 and A915. I have been on all of the current A91 but never driven it.

I would recommend the A7 highly! I think a lot of the other roads in that area - A701, A702, A68, A70 - are also very enjoyable.

The M6 is nice through the Lake District. The rest of it is absolutely horrendous, so I wouldn't recommed any part south of Preston (except, perhaps, the Thelwall Viaduct).

B8082, A82, A87, A835, A887, A862
A96, A985, A902,
M73, M74/A74(M), M77, M80, M876, M898, M9, M90, A823(M)
B9150, B9152, B9153, B9154, B9177, B8079, B8019, B996
Obviously I've driven on way more roads than this but I've done nearly all of the M8, A9, A889 and hope to one day do the A1!
