Heard a couple of reports that tree-felling for the bypass has now commenced.

Drove along the A487 from Bontnewydd (northbound) on Saturday. There is a bridge constructed over the current A487 just north of the village, but not much sign of anything else having happened from what I could see. One thing which did pop into my head as I drove into Caernarfon is whether (once the bypass is completed) they'll consider removing the flyover in Caernarfon. Having had a very quick scan of the gov.wales overview page I can't see it mentioned. I imagine it'll stay, but as with Huntingdon there would be valid reasons to remove it.
