Not sure why a barrier, clearly intended to stop all motorised vehicles, needs a height warning of 1 metre.
Judging by the picture, they'll just walk round the side!

At 1 metre it will stop most pedestrians too, unless it's designed to practice limbo skills.
Interesting as it is, it is not a bridge though...

This is the lowest one that I know of in Ireland... near Drogheda. New(ish) build motorway too. 8'2.

Edit: This one near Waterford is a close second. 2.8m.

Scratch all that, we can throw a 6 footer in from this road near Howth in Dublin. One way road under the railway line.

Then you will love the one foot height restriction to my local Sainsbury's car park.

Why would anyone think converting to inches would be a good idea?
And then getting the decimal point in the wrong place for good measure.
Isn't anything proofread or checked anymore?

For a private access road to a supermarket car park I would imagine not.

Are there any aspects that are checked these days?

I am not sure if it is a public road but OS does have a parking symbol marked on it. It leads to the Dreghorn Training Area from a junction on the A720 Edinburgh City Bypass. As can be seen on this direction sign, it was 1.5m or 4'-11" (with coverplated imperial height). The barrier can be seen here.

However...
Skip forward in time and it seems the barrier is now only eligible to let supercars through...

It is a public footpath / private drive, but a 5 foot 6 (1.68m) is still low.

In Berlin a low slung car drove under the barrier at the border with an undeclared passenger in the boot. This worked so well that the driver went back and did it again a couple of days later on a different route.

GSV history is interesting

2017 - 1.5m
2019, 2020 - 1m
2021 - 1.5m
2022, 2023 - lowered with no indiciation on the barrier, but the arrow signage indicates 1m
