I nearly got caught out the other day heading to Edinburgh Zoo when I spotted a speed camera in what is now a 20mph limit on the A8 (St John's Road). I don't think I was doing much above 20mph but you don't usually expect to see such a limit on an arterial route.

Soon to cover everything within CEC boundary except for a few key arterials (A90 / A71 / A702 A1 IIRC) and even then not for all their length

Good news Owen - the ADS for kirkliston Northbound has been removed (including the massive concrete pillars that held it) to make way for New NMU shared use path. Hoping it’s replaced with a new one that’s passively safe and readable !

Much like the ones that Fife Council have blown all their cash on, as well.

There is a Gatso in Leith, which is on a road which was reduced from 30 to 20.

Talking about Fife that reminds me of driving through Aberdour and Kinghorn which are both 20mph on the through road A921, which is weird. Thankfully there isnt cameras just those light up signs that tell you your speed, which are out a bit too!

Yes, and the B923 Kinghorn “bypass” now has a 40mph limit, even though some of it is arrow straight and would be fine at 60!

Well I did that road once about a year and a half ago, but I cant remember what speed it was then, nice road though. The best stretch near there that I remember was on the A921 between Aberdour and Burntisland, an NSL stretch to have a bit of fun on.

Funding identified for new Burnshot Bridge, according to the council. And it will carry vehicles as well as bikes and pedestrians.

Significant progress now visible as the bridge deck was installed this weekend.
A90 mainline closed with traffic diverted via sliproads up and over.

Can't say I'm particularly enamoured of the dark grey facing stone on the abutments.

No, they pretty well dug it out right back to the bedrock and started again.
