B1098

I drove along here the other day - a fascinating road that runs for miles through the Fens alongside the ruler-straight Sixteen Foot Drain. It also boasts a 7'0" level crossing underpass at Stonea.

There's a 50 limit throughout the waterside stretch, presumably mainly intended as a warning against ending up in the drink, as I can't see it getting much enforcement.

That was reduced from NSL a few years ago, the road from Ramsey Forty Foot towards Chatteris was reduced to 50mph with average speed cameras a few years before after a number of fatal accidents/drownings.
The B1050 from Earith alongside the river Great Ouse is now 40mph alongside the river, but this is more to do with the very poor condition of the road surface.
