I was wondering that too about the scaffolding, shame you can't really get a better view.
Will be interesting to see how they link it all up, I think possibly they might partially open the new Chybucca junction before they start work on the actual dual carriageway.
I have not been that way for a while so not sure how far they have got on the B3284 where the new roundabout is going.
I must take a drive out there at some point just to have a look.

Another thing I have be wondering about, is that the plans show the new roundabouts for the Chybacca junction on embankments. In particular, I've been thinking about the northern one being right on the line of the existing A30. So presumably that bit will need to be closed to build the roundabout and embankment. I wonder if the solution would be to put the A30 traffic on the new D2, so they can then build the embankments and roundabouts. They would probably need a temporary local access, for local traffic to get onto the old A30.

I've also been thinking about the traffic management at Chiverton. To connect the new junction to the existing D2 to the west. That seems to be even more complicated. I wonder if they would have to pick a quiet time of year, and then close the A30 for a few weeks.

Just a relatively small extra.

Cornwall council have applied for planning permission for a new overbridge, (For Cyclists, Pedestrians & horses) where the old Chiverton Cross roundabout currently is. It will presumably help that the New A30 is planned to be lowered at this point.

It's worth noting that the plans already include a subway closer to the new roundabout. Although that one would make most cyclists & pedestrians go further. Come to think of it, I'm not sure why the original plans didn't have this bridge instead of the Subway.

EDIT:
Actually the plans do include a short WCH link, from the B3277 to this place on the new A30. I thought that seemed a bit odd. So perhaps they always envisaged that the Council might build a bridge here.

I drove this route today westbound and there is quite a bit to see.
Quite a bit of activity around the Enis Lane area, there was a lot of activity around Tolgroggan Bridge, & quite a bit going on around Allet Lane.
The scaffolding at Chybucca has gone & the round pillars for the new overbridge are visible, & you can also see quite a bit of earthworks going on between the B3284 Perranporth turn off and Chiverton Cross, also the central islands at Chybucca have been removed.
Shame I don't have a dash cam as the works seem to have ramped up a bit since the video I posted.

So some bridge peers then.
I wonder whether they will be in the central reservation (Like Temple and Cardingham), of whether they will be at the edge of the road (Like on the Hayle bypass.)

I expect removing the central reserve gives then much more flexibility, to move the running lanes around, at different stages.

A Google Earth update.

If you go into street view, on the A30 just east of Chybuca, it's from Sept 2021. You can see the bridge starting to take shape, in that the bridge peers on the north side look almost complete. There is also scaffolding for the bridge peers on the south side. You can see where these peers will go, I think it may be the reinforcing rebar that you can see.

Edit:
In addition it's also recent on the Zelah bypass under the bridge. But there isn't much to see there yet. Apart from the traffic management.

Everyone else probably already knows this but I hadn't realised that although offline, the route does have a north/south crossover of the existing A30 at Chybucca, which will presumably be the most difficult part to tie in.

I could see those bridge peers clearly when I drove past a couple of weeks back, but all the scaffolding had gone, I am wondering how they are going to tie that into the northern roundabout which will go smack bang in the middle of the existing A30, as there is quite a height difference, will be very interesting to see how traffic is managed for that.
I drove the B3284 to Chybucca on Monday & noticed there are works going on to the west of the B3284 south of Chybucca, possibly the re-aligned existing A30, but it does not seem to tie in with the plans.

I've been wondering about that. I have one idea.

The new D2 is about the same height and alignment as the existing A30 just to the west of the bridge at Chybucca. So perhaps build a section of the new D2, from there, under the bridge, going to the east. Perhaps tying back into the existing A30 somewhere to the east. The A30 traffic could then be routed along this, and so freeing up the area for the roundabout to the north to be constructed. They would probably also need a temporary access for local traffic to get onto the existing A30. One idea for this would be at the existing Allet Lane, which the plans show as a gated emergency access.

The bridge at Chybacca will handle the switchover. Taking the existing A30 (which will become a local route), over the new D2.

I'm surprised that openstreetmap hasn't been updated to show the route yet, those guys are normally pretty quick at these things.

Be interesting to see how bad the traffic gets at Hayle when this is done.

The whole route appears to be well under construction on Sentinel Playground (very recent satellite imagery)

Interesting, I found if you click the satellite icon top right and switch to Sentinel 2 L1C the image is a little clearer.

I was wondering about that, use a section of the new D2 whilst the new roundabouts are constructed, like you said Allet Lane could be used as a temporary access for local traffic, then use the re-aligned existing A30 and a section of the new B3284 to take A30 traffic across the bridge to the northern roundabout, from there join the exsiting A30 or the new section of B3284 to Perranporth, thus freeing up the section of the old A30 from the Perranporth junction to the new roundabout to construct the crossover and slip roads.

Another possibility.

There seems to be plenty of activity on the North side of the existing A30. So I wonder if the plan might be to construct most of the B3284 link to Parenporth, but with some temporary links to the existing A30 at either end. There would be an issue at the eastern end, because the link road is planned to be on a big embankment. Well perhaps don't finish the embankment yet, but build a temporary link, going north of the new northern roundabout to the existing A30.

This is quite a bit of temporary roads, but routing the A30 traffic this way, it would then keep it away from most of the site. Perhaps this would make it worth it, as then nearly everything else could be constructed.

Traffic management plan for Chybucca here

Essentially the northern side of the junction will be built first, with the A30 using the new e/b off-slip and tieing in to the new carriageway to Chiverton as it gets completed - looks like it will be the first section of the route to be opened.

Traffic management plan for Chybucca here
I noticed that on Phase 1, it permanently stops up the access to Greegmeor farm. I'm not sure that this is allowed, as there is no other access to that farm.
