Speed Limit Change on the B1382 near Ely

Over the weekend I have driven between Prickwillow and Ely several times, and it seems that the speed limit on the B1382 is changing at the moment. On Saturday, I noticed that the sign leaving Prickwillow had been changed to a 40, from national, but on my return the sign out of Queen Adelaide was still national. This morning, it appeared that the sign at the Queen Adelaide end has been removed completely. I have searched to see if I could find some news about the change, and have come up with nothing, and I wondered if anyone else had any idea what is being done and why?
