If you look at 2008-2015 gsv there's no centreline, no blacking out... and all the give ways. So it looks like they may have done a dismal job at trying to remove a four way give way, rather than it arising by mistake.Chris Bertram wrote: ↑Thu Jan 27, 2022 09:00Hmm, it looks like there's been a dismal attempt to black out the GW markings on Gt Clarendon Street, and the centre line continues through the junction. Perhaps there was a change of priorities.

There's a few around Bristol. Here's one:

Pointless give way here, as you can only turn left.
https://www.google.com/maps/@51.4380758 ... 384!8i8192
Not really a 3 or 4-way give way, but this junction is interesting.

For 4 wheeled vehicles maybe but I think it's a plausible turning for a moped or motorbike.Chris Bertram wrote: ↑Thu Jan 27, 2022 09:03Well, if you can't turn into the road but only access it from straight across, you could argue that you don't need them.jervi wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 23:16 https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.18289 ... 312!8i6656
Found a 2 way stop / 2 way giveway. With all turns banned (by design)
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.18290 ... 312!8i6656
Going back in time it looks like they tried some non-standard traffic signals here - although not sure how the crossing traffic is supposed to pass each other.
Also Lake lane (the single lane track that crosses the other road) is a public road, but has "no motor vehicle signs except for access" signs on either end, but at this junction is missing them.

Isn't that almost a mini-roundabout without an island?WhiteBlueRed wrote: ↑Thu Jan 27, 2022 10:52 Pointless give way here, as you can only turn left.

Re: Three way Give Way at Heathers Gill
Pretty much. It's definitely not a pointless give way line. As you emerge from Bayham Road, traffic coming from your right has to give way to vehicles turning across its path into Bayham Road, but will then have priority over you.trickstat wrote: ↑Thu Jan 27, 2022 11:12Isn't that almost a mini-roundabout without an island?WhiteBlueRed wrote: ↑Thu Jan 27, 2022 10:52 Pointless give way here, as you can only turn left.

Found a 3 way give way here: https://goo.gl/maps/7sbnCP6zLpm3NQvj8 . Can't think why it is
Re: Three way Give Way at Heathers Gill
I was wondering how long it'd take for someone to point out the 4-way give way in Bookham. I genuinely had to think for a good few seconds when coming up to it, as to who exactly I was supposed to yield to.
I think this junction is compliant, but it's a bloody nightmare when the A62 gets busy (rush hour particularly) - best viewed by satellite:
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@53.75017 ... a=!3m1!1e3
I haven't seen quite so many give-way lines in such a short space. Maybe the Council got a bulk discount on white paint? Unfortunately, as of 2021, the lines on one half are so faded as to be near-useless, and there are no signs as a secondary indication.

Re: Three way Give Way at Heathers Gill
On the opposite end of the spectrum, here's a give way line with no conflicting traffic to give way to (two one way roads leading away).
https://maps.app.goo.gl/DGeh1uS3yJ6YUmnP9
At least now it technically has a pedestrian function.

A three way give way just round the corner from my last post on this thread:

How would you like your grade separations, Sir?

Re: Three way Give Way at Heathers Gill
Yes, it does look the case that someone has ordered a prohibited bend left then stuck a bit of red tape on it. It should also be a blue 'turn right' sign, as you can't go straight ahead either.Truvelo wrote: ↑Mon Feb 21, 2022 14:14The no left turn sign in that link belongs in the botched signs thread.pjr10th wrote: ↑Mon Feb 21, 2022 14:12 To add to this.

It's not unique either - I wonder if there was a deal on botched no turn signs.

Re: Three way Give Way at Heathers Gill
There's quite a few four-way give ways in Porchester/Mapperley, Nottingham. There's a grid of fairly narrow suburban streets and most of the junctions seem to have them, with traffic calming bump in the middle eg .

Found a Three/All way Stop.

Its in a private residential estate, so Google Street View hasn't gone there but I found it out on a cycle the other week. It felt very American, probably helped by the lack of pavements too.
Located here: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@50.80852 ... a=!3m1!1e3 - when this was taken it was a miniroundabout, but its unclear why a normal priority junction wouldn't work since the area has such low traffic & 20mph speed limit.

Albert Road, Highmoor Avenue, Caversham, Reading. Two stops and two give ways. Google had not been through on the earlier post.
The M25 - The road to nowhere
Re: Three way Give Way at Heathers Gill
This small junction in Kensington is weird. The road in front on the street view is one way.

Re: Three way Give Way at Heathers Gill
In Russia, the approach you've linked would have had priority, as per priority to the right when two road users are in an equal situation.
I wonder what are you supposed to do in that situation in the UK?

Four-way give-way just outside of Leatherhead:
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.27929 ... 384!8i8192
I really had to double-take when I saw this, so in one sense, it's effective at slowing traffic by just confusing everyone as to who has priority. (But surely a mini roundabout would have the same effect. And they've nearly got that with that brick island there.)

Nope, that's a mini-roundabout with standard markings. A Stop line is a solid line, remember, whether at traffic lights or at a priority junction.WhiteBlueRed wrote: ↑Thu Sep 08, 2022 13:35 A 3-way STOP junction in Southampton's Eastern Docks.
