Question about the A1 Newry bypass

Post by FosseWay »

I received the query below to the President's email address:
Afternoon,

I was hoping that someone from your organisation could assist me.

I am undertaking a degree in Civil Engineering and looking at the design of concrete bridges, similar to the one at the Newry Bypass in Armagh, NI.

Could, by any chance, someone point me to the direction of the developer or any case studies that may have been done on said project?

Look forward to your response, thank you.
Can anyone help? I'm not sure which of the Newry bypass bridges he means, or whether they are all similar in construction.

The most signifcant bridge on the route is probably Newry River Viaduct

The link to the Amey roads site gives more information: http://ameyroadsni.com/structure/newry-river-viaduct/

there's also good photos on skyscrapercity https://www.skyscrapercity.com/threads/ ... 038/page-6

From the SABRE Wiki: Newry River Viaduct :

The Newry River Viaduct is a large concrete viaduct that carries the A1 across the Newry River, the Newry Canal and Tandragee Road (the A27).

Wesley Johnson is probably the person to aim the question at.
