Welsh roads that don't go anywhere

Post by roadtester »

Wales Online has an interesting article about roads to nowhere - abandoned or built but then not used for one reason or another.

The fly-tipping on the A48 near Newport looks terrible.

Wales also, if you know where to look, has so many abandoned roads from realignment too.

Great article. It explains why the roads off M4 J43 had been massively modified last time I was down there!

When was M4 J46 remodelled? I seem to have missed that one. It looks very odd now, a dumbbell with the roundabouts (one of which is not full, I've forgotten the name for that) linked by two bridges, one central, one off centre and curved. Explicable if you know what it was before.

I think about 15 years or so at least now, it passed by with little fanfare.

Oh, well, considering the last time I was in the area was 1993...
