Spring Around Ilminster
First shoot of the season, bagged a good number here. Bypass closed 11.30pm Wed to 2.45pm Thurs.
Second closure in a week.
1. The lane from the A30 near Crewkerne, via Kingstone.
2. Between Ilminster and Seavington, heading east.
3. Ilminster chokes up....again.
No diversion signs but, this is so regular, drivers probably know the routine.
3 of 49 pics in Roadhog, 8 albums down, after the historical ones.
They are all the same, but different, like roads.

Re: Spring Around Ilminster
What was the reason for the bypass closure?
How would you like your grade separations, Sir?
Big and complex.
Big and complex.
Re: Spring Around Ilminster
A pedestrian on the road late at night, was hit. Not sure what his motive was. Peds on highways is an increasingly common occurence it seems.

Re: Spring Around Ilminster
Is it just me, or does this seem rather disrespectful to the person who lost their life?

Re: Spring Around Ilminster
I've been waiting for a comment like that for a while, each time I post on this topic. Most of the accident diversions involve death and all involve injury. I go to roadworks divs as well. I'm only interested in the old road diversion, the reason for them is irrelevant. It is a joke built around the grouse/pheasant hunting season, wasn't that clear? Humourlessness is an increasing problem both on here and in society in general. It has to be kept alive or society will be an even more grim and joyless place than it already has become.

I didn’t read it as disrespectful to anyone, either.SteveA30 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 07:38 I've been waiting for a comment like that for a while, each time I post on this topic. Totally agree - these days anyone will jump onto the woke bandwagon....remember the outcry over the photo of the dead horse a while ago?

No, it's not disrespectful. It's very clearly referring to the traffic/photo opportunity, not the deceased pedestrian
