New bridges at M6 Junction 10.

Post by IAN »

I'd not heard about this project - Two brand new bridges instead of widening the existing ones.

Are the originals life-expired after 50 years? It's rather worrying if that's the case, with so many motorways opening in the 1970s.

No, in a nutshell Highways Agency for England National Department of State or whatever they're now called have decided M6 J10 needs a bigger roundabout which the existing bridges couldn't handle the design for. We've had threads elsewhere but can't find them right now.
