M6 Junction 22 Manchester South East Junction improvements
This doesn't make sense, as M6 J22 is west of Manchester.
Shh, looking at the map and working out where Manchester is forms next year's study.
I thought that perhaps it is the main junction for traffic leaving the M6 to get to SE Manchester. However, having looked at a map, it is an unlikely option for both northbound and southbound traffic.

New report published yesterday showing confirmed RIS3 pipeline schemes, a few we already knew and a few accelerated to start and compete earlier; The North
A19 North of Newcastle Junctions
A64 Hopgrove
M1 Leeds Eastern Gateway
M1/M62 Lofthouse Interchange
M6 Junctions 19-21A Knutsford to Croft extra capacity
A1 Doncaster to Darrington
Very sensible. All long overdue.
M1 Junctions 35A-39 Sheffield to Wakefield extra capacity
Much less expected. Traffic is notably less than north from 39 or south from 35A. "Extra capacity" rather than "widening" presumably means smartification and hard shoulder removal so seems a surprising priority right now.
I'll admit I don't daily drive it, but I'm not convinced there's a massive pressing need for "M1 North Leicestershire extra capacity". Northbound J23 to J24a can get a bit gnarly at peak times but most of the time that's as a result of accidents/breakdowns, without them it doesn't appear (anecdotally at least) to be a regular bottleneck, especially compared to other locations on the network. There are plenty of other situations in the Midlands that I think should be usurping this.

It's not exactly ideal for SW Manchester either.

A483 Pant-Llanymynech Bypass (in cooperation with the Welsh Government)
Nice to see England catching up with this project at last!
I'm guessing the announcement has something to do with the A5/A483 junction works at Oswestry, or that the contractors working on that job can give a discount on the Llanymynech job due to its close proximity. I am probably wrong mind.

What we should all note is that is J22 is proposed for mega development as it used to be a mine site and it's now giant brownfield. It has nothing to do with access to Manchester and everything to do with that.

The repercussions of the Wisley Interchange already being considered?
Nope... local plan aspirations aka development - probably link
Opportunities have also been identified to the north of Guildford for including enhanced capacity of truck laybys at Ripley and the introduction of north-facing slips at the
A3/A247 at Ripley to support local plan aspirations and relieve some pressure on local roads accessing the A3 at Guildford.

That sounds like a candidate for all sorts of logistics sheds!

Well I think the M1 J35a to J39 is simply about pretty much getting the whole M1 to smart motorway it seems daft when it’s not a major issue and surely the A1 improvements will reduce traffic further!
A64 Hopgrove finally seems to be not listed as Junction improvement as all the options are now full dualling which is much needed!

A303 Phase 2 upgrade
A3/A247 Ripley South
A2 Dover Access
A27 Lewes to Polegate
A27 Chichester improvements
M27 Southampton Access
A38 Trerulefoot-Carkeel safety package
So am I right in thinking this is the final list? As I know it was mentioned a while ago the schemes would be shortlisted to 30 to go ahead, looking at the list that’s 30!
I know the A303 upgrades will benefit the West Country, but actually in the SW the only scheme is a safety package on 6 miles of the A38. Levelling up? I don't think so.
