The best way to post a photo is to upload it to the SABRE Wiki, here: https://www.sabre-roads.org.uk/tools/upload/

If you add as much detail as possible it will be properly categorised and can easily be found by anyone in the future (such as appearing in Gallery:A9). The maximum file size is 1MB.

You can then post an image in a forum post using the "gallery" tags seen above the "post a reply" box, using the file name from the wiki.

In some places oxbow roads are just left, however in rare cases they seem to actually be dug up and are now ploughed fields which seems to be the case with sections of the old A48. Is there any reason why some are dug up and some are left even if not used as lay-bys or farm access.

There are a number on the A171, In some cases they act as farm access but in other cases, such as this one it just seems to have been a whim of the County Council, this one as I recall was at one time used to stockpile road grit.

As I recall in the early 1970's there were bolt on snowploughs on this hard standing.

Old A9 parallel to dualled A9 north of Daviot - gated at both ends - maybe 400 yds? This section was dualled late 70's
