That takes me back to my early driving lessons - the owner of the driving school lived very close to Sevenways!

This no right turn sign is so old that the road you can't turn right into no longer exists....

To keep the manky signs going. I took this pic 4 years ago on Corney Fell. Rather sad blue bordered finger post with one arm looking though it's had some king of projectile hit it.

And while on my travels those thick blue bordered signs in Hulme Manchester. When i passed about 4 weeks ago two of these had already been removed and one replaced with a modern sign. So i guess theyre days are numbered. There appears to be a cycle way being installed along Chorlton road so the area is getting a bit of a facelift..

Ok i have a thing for manky signs..

I posted one of these before so to complete the set here are the three signs the Padgate lane / Marsh house lane junction in Warrington. Methinks they have been there for a long time and in need of replacement. Although i like these old ish signs i can imagine a modern monstrosity being placed here one day. A bit of TLC anyone?

Two absolute beauties here at the A66/A19 junction, especially love the A66 route confirmation sign!

This sign is starting to decay around the joints.

Surely that sign was taken down when the A63/A1 fork GSJ was removed.

I took that photo 15 years ago. Imagine how much further it would have deteriorated by now if it wasn't removed.

The older imagery shows how much the speed camera sign lettering has peeled off.

I haven't managed to get any photos, but all the direction signs on the brand new A4226 in Barry are manky right out of the box. It's only visible at night; something has failed terribly in the production of the retroreflectivity, making about the middle third of the sign into a big black patch at night. It almost looks like a patch of ice. Very odd.

You sure it's not just dew on the sign face, causing the retroreflective sheeting not to work?

It could well be. Has been happening since pretty much when it opened, but that was October so still quite dewy. The road is up on high ground and windswept so it kind of makes sense. I've just never seen it before.

Yes. For some reason Thorpe Interchange is regularly forgotten by maintenance. It still has backlit merge signs too.

Saw this the other day at the A6 / A590 junction. I've seen quite a lot like this where the white reflective has turned brown over the years.
