The highlight of the day.

I noticed one of these on the way in and planned to snap it on the outward drive. However, as I was driving out, I was surprised to see yet another example and, as there was suitable parking, I nabbed this:

This is the first time I've seen one of these old-style speed-limit signs. As I drove on, I noticed that the one I spotted earlier in the day (i.e. heading further out of Harlech on the Maentwrog road) is one of a pair on a telegraph pole, so that makes 3 of these on this road nestling amongst the other current-design 30 repeaters.

Now we're talkin'!

I was capturing the old fingerpost across the road which still shows 'Railway Station' in Keswick when i stumbled across this opposite.
You beat me to it, this sign must date back to the seventies, and there is one of a similar vintage in Cockermouth at the end of Station St, where the A5086 joins the former A66. The sign is so old that it looks like Workington( A66) has the ( A66) patched over A66. I'd love to be able to pull off the patch to see if this is true, which would date the sign to before 1977 when the town was by passed.

This one's hanging in there, the twin sign across the road was replaced not too long ago.

I must stop when unrushed, to get a photo of this sign on the outskirts of Iwerne Courtney, which I passed last evening. I wonder when it was put there?!

Luckily the dead-end sign on the street name hasn't faded like this poor old veteran.

I saw this one today at North Cornelly on the northbound carriageway A4229 approaching the M4. The street view was taken over three years ago and it's even worse now.

Were RCS's after MSA's a 60s relic? Not sure I've ever seen any apart from this one (still there!)

Faded sign just by the disused Canning Street level crossing, Birkenhead.

You can only just make out the road numbers on this one.

There is plenty of choice of blue-bordered signs, in varied states of mankiness, adorned with different combinations of 'Cwm y Glo', 'Llanrug' and 'Llanberis', but this is about the best (well, worst, really) as the poles match the sign for mank:
