Yes, but once you've read the sign they have to kill you.

Botched and very poor. An advance Stop sign should be used in this situation if advance warning of the junction is considered necessary.

What is particularly peculiar is that a manufacturer would have gone out of their way to make that sign without querying it. Or perhaps they did...
Just found an image of a defunct T-Junction sign design on the gallery witch looks Identical.

Two for the price of one!

In a way it's correct as you'd go to the left of the splitter island to head towards Leeds and to the right of it for Dewsbury or M62. Some mention of the roundabout might be useful though.

There is a normal sign back here. My guess is that those signs are intended for traffic coming out of McDonalds, that won't have seen the advance sign.

The AWPR signage changes are all, without exception, dreadful, but somehow I never quite get over just how bad they are.

Why "North and South" when simply "(A90)" would suffice and leave space to include some actual place names? It's just absolute institutionalised incompetence.

Probably a recent graduate engineer who never bothered to read the regs but 'knows everything' and was handed the task of doing signs because "it's something anyone can do". Still, I'm sure the consultancy involved (I won't name them) trousered quite a fee for this drivel.

If it wasn't for the wrinkles, I would say it looked like a bad attempt in MS Paint!

Just reminded me of this - https://www.google.com/maps/@55.0393774 ... 384!8i8192

Even better when you zoom out, https://www.google.com/maps/@55.0393774 ... 384!8i8192

There's a lot of awful signs in North Tyneside around there lately with stupid mistakes especially A1056 (or A1058 or B1318 depending on sign) being primary.

I can assure you that I was there in person, and I have absolutely no motive whatsoever for faking signs and trying to bring the local authority into disrepute! :D

A look at GSV suggests that prior to the recent patch, the sign had not even been modified to reflect the replacement of the A92 and A94 with the extension of the A90 during the 1990s, let alone the rerouting of the original A92 around the western fringe of Aberdeen prior to that: clicky

The A429 is primary here, so that's surely a bit silly, doesn't need the white patch with the patch on A429.

C, E flat and G go into a bar. The barman says "sorry, we don't serve minors". So E flat walks off, leaving C and G to share an open fifth between them.

Never argue with an idiot. They will bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

For the most part the council have installed new signs to replace the superseded signs, but I have spotted some patches in places. I hadn’t seen this one though - that’s pretty dreadful!

I could probably go through most of the new signs and point out something wrong with them. The council has renumbered a whole load of routes in Aberdeen, but most of the new signs don’t include the new B-road numbers at least. There’s also the former B9119, now A9119, where it meets the A92. The roundabout sign points to “A9119” in the citybound direction, but only something like “(A944) (A90 North & South)” in the countrybound direction. A9119 is however correctly signed when that road diverges from the A944.

There’s also the now-non primary A96 which - on RCSes at least - is signed as “(A96)” with a green patch on white signs, as opposed to just, y’know, “A96”.

That's the original design for diversion route symbols as far as I know. There are a lot at Junction 31 on the A282.

Haha!

If you type "GCHQ" into Google Maps, they tell you exactly where it is.
