Re: Botched Roadsigns
This is advising the road bends to the right and there there is a junction, don't think this info should be displayed like this though!

I went past this today.
Only, it wasn't that.
It was a keep right today.
I decided to be a rebel and passed the keep right on the left hand side.

Western end of the M67 at Denton. M60 North is on a blue background so is a motorway. Ring Road North is on a green background so presumably isn't a motorway. But they're the same road?!

I find it more jarring that it signposts “Ring Road (N)” but not “Ring Road (S)”.the cheesecake man wrote: ↑Thu Jul 04, 2019 13:01 Western end of the M67 at Denton. They’ve also put “(N)” in yellow, which is wrong, unless (N) is now a route number.

Re: Botched Roadsigns
And as Manchester Airport is reached via the M60 South perhaps that should be on the blue bit rather than green?Chris5156 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 04, 2019 14:52I find it more jarring that it signposts “Ring Road (N)” but not “Ring Road (S)”.the cheesecake man wrote: ↑Thu Jul 04, 2019 13:01 Western end of the M67 at Denton. Re: Botched Roadsigns
Took me a minute but I assume the fingerboard sign has been flipped around the wrong way. Otherwise that's quite a dead-end road!

Re: Botched Roadsigns
This sign is a little small to be that high up: Streetview
Clue - Its mounted on the street light column behind and above the electronic sign

Re: Botched Roadsigns
There isn't really anything wrong with this sign, except for the fact that if you continue forward to the traffic lights you meet this, which is identical except that it's pointing the other way.
(The first sign is more correct - if you follow the second then you go round a one-way loop to end up where you started.)

Re: Botched Roadsigns
This has just been replaced with one that says M621
(And yes, I am aware that technically you do join the M621 sliproad for a hundred yards or so before reaching the M62 proper but surely practical functionality trumps technical correctness - nobody in the real world would think they were joining the M621 here?!)

Surface dressing finished, the A4226/B4265 Rhoose Bypass and Airport Road now have hazard warning lines painted along the entire length

Do we think Shropshire are correct in signposting Speed Limit Ahead as a hazard?

Oooo, that's a really tricky one Big L.Big L wrote: ↑Thu Aug 01, 2019 20:55 Do we think Shropshire are correct in signposting Speed Limit Ahead as a hazard?
Now let me think about the answer.
For a whole nanosecond.

Patience is not a virtue - it's a concept invented by the dozy beggars who are unable to think quickly enough.
Re: Botched Roadsigns
That seems like a bodge to solve a percieved problem. It's at the bottom of Clee Hill which makes cars feel like soapbox racers. And once you get to Rocks Green you really haven't got long to find out if your brakes still work before the A49 roundabout. That said, an earlier speed limit sign would be the approved solution, or SLOW marked on the road. Rumble strips perhaps.Big L wrote: ↑Thu Aug 01, 2019 20:55 Do we think Shropshire are correct in signposting Speed Limit Ahead as a hazard?
