Good luck to you in finding a sign saying "Coventry (S)" unless you fancy reversing back up to junction 4.
I assume the designer meant "follow A444 (S)" although even that only emerges halfway along the exit slip road.

Re: Botched Roadsigns
My local council has just put up 20mph and school warning signs up round a primary school near me, along with a 20mph rounded on a yellow patch on the road. So far so ... good? These signs have a 30mph roundel on the back. The problem is, the entire area is within a 20mph zone (at least according to the signs on the two roads into the estate). So now what?

Re: Botched Roadsigns
39mph? Really? I'm sure DfT would love to know which council this is. It would also be interesting to get the views of the local police force who would be tasked with enforcing such nonsense. Got any photos please?AndrewGPaul wrote: ↑Fri May 14, 2021 13:23 My local council has just put up 20mph and school warning signs up round a primary school near me, along with a 20mph rounded on a yellow patch on the road. Re: Botched Roadsigns
I've always seen this, when passing it, and wondered what was underneath it.
Maybe they changed the number of the road and covered up the old name or they accidentally made a typo for the name of the road ad patched it up with the correct name.

Re: Botched Roadsigns
Good question. The road has been the A658 since numbering began 100 years ago, so it hasn't ever been anything else – looks like it was either a typo or an anticipated change that never came to pass.

Re: Botched Roadsigns
The council replied to my tweet, so hopefully the errant 30mph rounders will be gone soon.
Re: Botched Roadsigns
here are some images and by looking at them you could make out that under the eight is a zero or a 9 but I am not sure.

Always nice when you can walk a route you'd usually drive. So many things I hadn't given a second glance to!
The spacing between the A and the 4 feels a little tight.
This has definitely been posted before but surprisingly still in situ in 2021!
This one just offends me!

Would be funny if it was a 3, because the bus that used to run along that road was the 653 ... we've had a thread for buses that are numbered after the roads they use, but this would be the first road that was numbered after the bus that used it, even if by mistake!

Re: Botched Roadsigns
Should this be Stamford A6121 without a patch? Why Spalding (A16) when there's plenty of room in the crude green patch to write it properly?
Or should it be Stamford A6121 on a white patch?
Forgotten to put A1307 on this sign? Never mind make up for it by putting A1307 on this one.

It's the A1175 not the A16 now.
C, E flat and G go into a bar. The barman says "sorry, we don't serve minors". So E flat walks off, leaving C and G to share an open fifth between them.

Saw this the other day

Also saw an upside down giveway ahead sign in the same area, but can't find it now
Also found this yesterday,

Pretty sure you can't paint a 60 roundel on the ground when it is NSL

Plane pointing wrong way. The bottom sign is missing "A23" and "town centre" seems to be a destination (Brighton not centred on it), however no caps and its also a city.
Also that diversion patch is a bit messy

Looks suspiciously like Transport Heavy too, when it should be Transport Medium if it's white on green.jervi wrote: ↑Fri May 21, 2021 23:17 https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@50.85661 ... 312!8i6656

Edit - it looks like the product has been taken down from the website. They might want to do the same thing with their flashing chevron sign as well.
