I came across a pair of these today in Golders Green, the second portable versions I've come across, mainly used in car parks to indicate areas which are off limits which may change over time.

The photos have gone Dadge, Photobucket have hidden them.

Not the oldest pre-Worboys sign necessarily, but is it the oldest with a date, 23rd October 1899? It turned up on Geograph yesterday just in time before the clocks went back.

Haven't seen this one listed before: London SE14

Reminds me of seeing at least four of these in quick succession on Saturday in Shepherd's Bush.

There are also two of the older enamel single line versions in two of the roads opposite by Goldhawk Road Station.

I saw this one in Market Harborough this morning. This road has not been the A427 since the A14 opened about 20 years ago.

Yes, Surrey was the only county to keep it's PW route confirmation signs on some A roads, about 25 in total. They have started to vanish now though, I think I got them all.

I took a detour along the A48 Gloucester to Chepstow and came upon this.

These beauties had been covered up on Streetview, and only found them looking for something else along the A41 in Bucks.

Plus a manky pair of speed limits near Aston Clinton. The derestricted is for about 50 yards of dead end road.

These signs are a question and not a statement. Fingerpost stylie, but actually they are the same panels used on the blue border signs which occasionally stand alone as per these.

Image

These two are not fingerposts but rare stand alone panels without the backing, and oblong as the side of the pole indicates the directions. However I just came across this set in Chingford which add the road number and then an arrow as it wouldn't be obvious where they pointed otherwise for the A road pair. But with the plain arrow does it make them fingerposts automatically, or does the design of the remainder make them the other type? Having never come across this design before I don't have a clue.

Disregarding the pointed ends these are just standard blue sign panels, so I'm confused for one.
