I wouldn't bother as those photos were taken 18 years ago and I sold that van in 2003. The A458 sign has definitely gone as it's not there in the 2009 Google image. I can't find the others either but as there's a huge number of roads in that area I can't remember exactly where they are.

Anyway, here's two more photos I took at the time, again I can't remember the exact locations and the likely spots shows nothing on GSV.

You get similar on the other main roads into Chester. I used to be able to tell you exactly where the ones on the A51 and A5116 were but my knowledge of Chester has declined over the past few years.

Having driven around Chester numerous times over the years i never noticed until this one. However a quick google search confirms what you say and there are multiple versions of this in different locations. Some in better condition than this one.

Might have found 2 more like that

Both sides of that bridge. I was bored and flicking around GSV - I haven't gone out and checked what's out there

They are, you can make out the numerals on the other side of the bridge.

These were all in the network of lanes that I know very well and I can't think of any survivors. I can pinpoint one definite, one almost certain, one probable and a possible:
Bottom of Page 93 - 1st photo, possibly at Six Ashes around here.
Bottom of Page 93 - 2nd photo, almost certainly here. If you look at the signpost at the junction, the destinations still match (the Wombourne sign has been moved to face the wrong way).
Top of Page 94 - 1st photo, definitely Camp Hill Road here. Road markings and pull-in are still there.
Top of Page 94 - 2nd photo, a bit tricky this one. My best guess would be here near Smestow.
Nice to see those pics.

I have some more photos taken from that area. I'll post them when I have time. I'm glad I took these now they have all gone. At least we have a permanent record of them.

Those are all fingerposts not pre-Worboys. No terminal arrow head.

I happily discovered yesterday that Sturminster Marshall has three surviving black-and-white posts with 30 with a pointed 3 on both sides - six signs in all.

One is just on the village green on Kings Street, the other two in Back Lane which is the road coming off acutely at the phone box.

Not sure if this has been posted before but it's a cracker:

- Dual carriageway Pre-Worboys sign
- Clearway sign in background
- removal of rail overpass

Ah yes, a friend of mine sent me precisely that image yesterday evening having spotted the DC and Clearway signs! They're both long gone now, though. Some fantastic photos uploaded in that set.
