Re: Pre-Worboys preservation campaign
Since Bishop's Castle has come up, here are two others there that I know about.
Re: Pre-Worboys preservation campaign
Salopian posted this double warning sign some time ago, so thank you for leading me to it. Here it is again, plus the two separate ones facing the other way. They serve the hamlet of Churchtown near Bishop's Castle.
Re: Pre-Worboys preservation campaign
While searching for some, I ran into a few signs which I think are new to this site. A rather weather-beaten one in Baschurch.
Re: Pre-Worboys preservation campaign
...and finally for now, arguably the jewel in the crown; The tiny village of Badger near Bridgnorth, discovered on a very winding bus ride. The signs are clearly well looked after, and well done to them!
Re: Pre-Worboys preservation campaign
I never knew those existed. There were several around Bobbington, Enville and Greensforge but they went many years ago.
How would you like your grade separations, Sir?

Me neither. I think all the direction signs on this page are new to the internet. I missed the pair in Badger when I went to get the others last year but won't be going back.

This one’s interesting - it’s the design of a Pre-Worboys sign and the arrow is PW, but the lettering is in Transport Heavy. It’s either a very decent reproduction, or it was made around the time the signs were changing with the old design and new lettering mistakenly put together. It’s fascinating!

Possibly reproduction, although the rivets look old enough to be 60s. A mystery indeed.Chris5156 wrote: ↑Wed May 19, 2021 07:32This one’s interesting - it’s the design of a Pre-Worboys sign and the arrow is PW, but the lettering is in Transport Heavy. Re: Pre-Worboys preservation campaign
I've been looking for that (or another like it) ever since I went past in a rush to Llanilar some years ago. There's more than a few around there including the Trawscoed / Tregaron sign just ahead!crazyknightsfan wrote: ↑Sat Apr 24, 2021 07:21 But wait, there's more:

Not sure if this has been featured before. Captured this near Neston while on the way to Parkgate.

Took this using a flash a few years ago.multiraider2 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 21, 2020 23:33 I've not been on this thread much recently and checking 95 pages of pictures is difficult, especially where many of the links no longer work, but I think the below isn't in the gallery or this thread.
In Keswick and leading to the old route of the B5289 on Lake Road.
Re: Pre-Worboys preservation campaign
Just about to turn onto the Fosse Way and make for Leicester (then York tomorrow). Spotted this one in Podimore.

Re: Pre-Worboys preservation campaign
That looks like the "B" is on a separate patch that's been stuck on. I can't see why, though - the A5289 doesn't appear to exist, and any other renumbering would need the figures to change. Replacing a damaged letter?
