This beauty in Thetford turned up on Geograph during the lockdown, I finally managed to get it today. It's double sided but being stuck on a tree it's clearly not visible behind. A pole should have sufficed.

Is this Pre-Worboys?

The age and manufacture looks pre-Worboys but the stack design suggests post-Worboys?

Been out again today and saw this sign for Nantmor https://maps.app.goo.gl/XgTCHqieuZ2ptyzw9 which looks pre-Worboys.

There's also a slightly more modern blue-bordered sign which I'll put in the 'Manky' thread.

Yes, that’s pre-Worboys - the all caps alphabet and the shape of the arrows give it away. Stack type signs like that were introduced in the 1950s I think.

You are absolutely correct - the thread on the 1957 TSRGD shows the stack examples here (page 2048):

This beauty turned up months ago in Hampshire on Instagram, but I couldn't get it till now as we couldn't travel. I can't think of another left bend until deepest Wales.

Hi.. I have been following this wonderful site for some time, and it is time to take the plunge and share the proceeds, namely around 500 pw signs. Many have already been posted. some have not, i'll try and focus on those.
I'm from Leeds, WY is not very pw-friendly, but a few have survived. This in Middlestown near Wakefield seems to be semi-preserved.

...but it had a next-door neighbour until a few months ago, sadly it has now gone.

I have trained my sister Christine up to identify pw signs, and she spotted this near Batley.

This has been posted before, but enjoy this last photo from last spring, as it fell down around two weeks later.
Rawdon near Leeds.

I failed to find the "slow major road ahead" sign which is supposedly in the Rawdon area, but while looking for it found this.

Welcome to Sabre and a great selection there. I passed those two near Horbury recently and was impressed they are still there in great condition. Shame that other one has now gone. Keep them coming !
