Thanks - I was sure there must be a way. Can the title be made less cryptic?

Or I believe when it's on your computer you can just right click on it and select 'rotate'.
As for renaming it, you could either do it on your computer, or you would have been given the filename after you selected which photo you wanted to upload - you could have changed it there. Now I believe only admin can do it.

I have websites about: motorway services | Fareham

It's not a problem, so don't worry. You've done a sterling job in describing, locating, and categorizing your photo, and those are the main ways to make it a useful addition to the Wiki. The filename is not so important.t1(M) wrote:Can the title be made less cryptic?

https://goo.gl/maps/EajUvaQyop62 is a standard Toucan now.
Looks like it used to be a Toucan with countdown: https://goo.gl/maps/jHZYwarT8gC2

That's exactly what it looked like, possibly removed when the council did work near there.nowster wrote: ↑Sun Nov 04, 2018 19:02 https://goo.gl/maps/EajUvaQyop62 is a standard Toucan now.

Before I retired at the end of last year, I worked in Abergavenny for 2 or 3 days every month, parked in the Fair Field car park and crossed at these lights, but I can't every remember them showing a countdown.Tom Williams wrote: ↑Sun Nov 04, 2018 17:33 There's one of these in abergavenny or at least there was...

I never remember seeing it although I always wondered if it worked or notOctaviadriver wrote: ↑Sun Nov 04, 2018 23:09Before I retired at the end of last year, I worked in Abergavenny for 2 or 3 days every month, parked in the Fair Field car park and crossed at these lights, but I can't every remember them showing a countdown.Tom Williams wrote: ↑Sun Nov 04, 2018 17:33 There's one of these in abergavenny or at least there was...

Re: The countdown traffic light.
There were these ones in Porthmadog as well, though similarly I never managed to see them active or indeed activate them. I had a feeling they were intended to operate somewhat similarly to the 'new' amber ones that are becoming more commonplace, and countdown an extended all-red if the disabled pad was pushed, but it never seemed to work from what I remember.
Then there was these ones in Argyle St, Glasgow. These counted down the red man time, which was based on Glasgow's fixed-time system. Similar to the current amber ones, IIRC these just self-leaned the cycle time to display based off whatever associated aspects they were connected to (in this case, red).

Re: The countdown traffic light.
I would have though Glasgow would need a three-figure display! Quite possibly the worst British city to traverse as a pedestrian, we found it a hugely frustrating place on our one visit in 2006. I suppose a countdown would have given some reassurance that the lights hadn't simply failed, which was often our suspicion.traffic-light-man wrote: ↑Wed Nov 07, 2018 10:14 Then there was these ones in Argyle St, Glasgow. Fairly recently, two sets have appeared on Oxford Road / Street in Manchester I use fairly regularly: https://goo.gl/maps/SHSy8kJ7yJr and https://goo.gl/maps/yVq5c9CdMMR2.
The first ones I saw were in Bulgaria in 2007, but these were for road traffic rather than just pedestrians. It took a while to find one on Streetview, so possibly they are less common now? https://goo.gl/maps/5cpnWVqcYH52
Re: The countdown traffic light.
I remember seeing traffic lights which counted down both red and green phases, in seconds, in Turkey about 20 years ago. Hard to tell if it made the standard of driving worse.
I've used in the Netherlands junctions with separated cycleways. The lights had detectors on the approach, but also a button at the stop line if the detector failed (with the button light showing if the detector had worked). Around many of these was a circle of white LEDs, which extinguished as a count down.
Except it was a maximum wait count down. So if there was lots of traffic on other phases, it could take all that time (not very long though!) but if the way was clear, the lights would change in your favour early.
